O texto describe a vila de Baiona onde a flota reparou a nave do almirante, danada cando golpeou un rochedo por mor da néboa. O manuscrito, atribuido a Samuel de Champlain, ralata a súa travesía coa flota española no Caribe entre os anos 1599 e 1600.
